Powder coating cable trays is a surface treatment method that involves spraying plastic powder onto the cable trays.

No thinners are required, and the construction process causes no pollution to the environment and is non-toxic to humans. The coating exhibits excellent appearance quality, strong adhesion, and high mechanical strength. The curing time for spraying construction is short. The coating's corrosion and wear resistance are significantly higher. No primer is needed. The construction is simple and requires low technical skill from workers. The cost is lower than that of painting processes. In some construction scenarios, the use of electrostatic powder coating is explicitly required. During the electrostatic powder spraying process, there is no running or sagging commonly seen in painting processes.

It utilizes the corona discharge phenomenon to adsorb the powder coating onto the cable tray. The process is as follows: the powder coating is fed into the spray gun by a powder supply system using compressed air. A high-voltage electrostatic generator at the front end of the spray gun creates high voltage, resulting in corona discharge and generating dense charges in the vicinity. When the powder is ejected from the nozzle, it forms charged coating particles. Under the influence of electrostatic force, these particles are attracted to the workpiece with the opposite polarity. As more powder is applied, the accumulated charge increases. When a certain thickness is reached, electrostatic repulsion prevents further adsorption, ensuring the entire workpiece obtains a uniform thickness of the powder coating. The workpiece is then heated to melt, level, and cure the powder, forming a hard coating film on the surface.
